Our new eight has a name

After a members' vote with a record turnout, the club's first new eight in fifteen years has been christened on the pontoon. She will be called Kingfisher, after the bird that seems to follow the early crews along the lower stretch.

The boat was bought with help from the boathouse fund and many small donations from members, parents and alumni. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

First outings

Kingfisher will be used by the senior squads first, and by development crews from the winter onwards. Please check the booking board before taking her out and report any damage straight away.

A short ceremony and photo moment will be held at the Autumn Open Day. Everyone is welcome.
